History of Şehitlik Mosque
The Şehitlik Mosque (Martyrs' Mosque) is part of a complex that includes a cemetery for Turkish soldiers who died in Germany during WWI and WWII. The current mosque, completed in 2005, was designed in Ottoman style with twin minarets and a central dome. It is one of the largest and most visible mosques in Berlin and is affiliated with DITIB. The mosque runs regular open days as part of Germany's "Day of Open Mosques".
